A Shared Ethos

As a parent, choosing the best school for your children is the biggest decision you will ever make. Such a decision should be based on your family ethos; your values and the environment that best suits your child.

Many British traditional schools offer environments which essentially have not changed in the past 100 years. When one looks closely at the ethos of such learning environments, we find that they are often formal and adult, rather than child lead, subjecting children to long days and extensive homework on a daily basis.

Childhood should be a time for being carefree and fun, without the need for dreading Sunday evening, because of school the next day. However, in general, children in the UK have very little time for emotional growth, which in turn affects their social integration and general well-being.

According to
UNICEF, the UK is currently languishing at the bottom of the league among 21 industrialised nations for child well-being. The report states that under investment and our “dog-eat-dog” society are to blame.

At Bloo House, we share the values of many parents. We want children to be safe, secure, happy and inspired by the world around them. And as parents, the founders of Bloo House wanted to create a new generation of school for today's child - a pioneering approach that would allow children to reach their potential as individuals and improve their general state of well-being.

Our natural approach to childhood learning through a
multiple intelligence curriculum lies at the core of our ethos and as such, pupils have a very different experience compared to more traditional schools - an experience driven by academic excellence, well-being and happiness. When leaving Bloo House, pupils are more than prepared emotionally and socially when taking the next step of their education and consequently flourish as a result.
