Bushcraft

As part of the Bloo House curriculum, children take part in Bushcraft sessions. Overseen by our resident Bushcraft expert, David Hunt learnt his unique set of skills at the Ray Mears Woodlore school. He has worked with children and adults alike and has been at Bloo House for a number of years.

Bringing the magic of the wilderness to the curriculum is a key part of introducing nature to children. Throughout the year, we involve and teach the pupils tracking, shelter building, traditional uses of plants and trees, respect for nature and other environmental issues. Additional workshops also take place within the school's grounds.

These sessions offer children the chance to develop a healthy respect for their environment and for nature, encouraging outdoor skills and a true sense of adventure!
