Our Philosophy
Academic potential
Children learn what they live. But in today's hectic world, they have more and more adult pressures thrust upon them. The Bloo House philosophy provides children with a relaxed and comfortable learning environment, enabling them to not only thrive academically, but also allowing them to enjoy being a child.
To achieve their academic potential, children must understand who they are and their place in the world around them. We have found that by placing this principle at the core of our schooling approach, children are at last able to attain a high degree of learning - in most cases, higher than their peers in traditional primary education – yet still have the freedom to develop and evolve as young people outside school.
Emotional balance
The conventional educational system is bound to a pressurised time-table and leaves little time for children’s emotional growth. But children do not necessarily need to be in school for 6 hours a day, 5 days a week to achieve academic potential.
Bloo House provides a four day week for primary aged children. The result of this shorter school week is that children are happier and less tired and have more energy with which to learn. Our pupils consistently achieve or exceed external ‘age appropriate academic targets’ at the same time as having fuller childhood with their families.
Ultimately, children who have a balanced life between family and school confidently seize new opportunities and flourish as a result in later years.
