• Why are you called Bloo House?
    When the school was initially created, the decision on naming the school was left to the children, who unanimously decided that it was the best name to represent the creative, playful and unique learning environment that Bloo House is.
  • What are your fees?
    Fees are £3500 per term, with a term's deposit paid in advance. Deposits contribute to your child's final term's fees before leaving Bloo House. Fees cover the cost of all tuition and workshops. Extra curricular activities are available upon request and are charged on a termly basis.
  • What age do children come to Bloo House?
    Children who are aged between 5 and 11 years of age attend Bloo House full time.
  • What are your school hours?
    Monday - Thursday 9.00 am - 3.00 pm

    Friday - 9.00 am - 12.30 pm
  • Are pupils assessed?
    Yes. We continuously assess the children's progress throughout the term. We also meet twice a year for parent meetings to keep parents informed.
  • What is your behaviour policy?
    We have a code of conduct that all members of the staff and children follow.
  • How does the school look after the health of my child?
    Bloo House staff are trained in first aid. The school also has a number of practitioners who specialise in nutrition and general well-being.
  • Will my child go on outings?
    Yes. Twice a term, children are taken on field trips that relate to the work and projects they are currently undertaking at school. As well as visiting museums, nature centres and art galleries, we also involve the children in Forest School outings in the local woods. Every July, we also organise a beach trip for parents, staff and children.
  • Where do pupils go after Bloo House?
    We encourage families to make the decisions that are right for their own children. As part of that commitment, we regularly prepare children to take entrance exams for their choice of independent or state senior schools. To date, all of our pupils have been offered places and scholarships at their first choice secondary school, which include top schools such as Eagle House, The Royal Grammar School, Hampton Boys, Surbiton High School, Sir William Perkins and Claremont Fan Court.

  • How do children leaving Bloo House manage the transition into secondary school?
    Bloo House offers high quality primary teaching and the substantial multiple-intelligence curriculum provides the necessary foundation for further learning. Children leave Bloo House with confidence and the self-awareness, ready to embrace the next stage of their education.

    Our chosen location provides accessibility to a large surrounding area. Esher is a town located in the heart of Surrey, with easy access to the A3, M3, M25 and South West London.
  • How do I register my interest in Bloo House?
    Please call us on 01372 477 113 and we will be happy to arrange an appointment for a visit. The school office is open during during term time from 8.30 am until 4.00 pm. Out of term time, please send us an email to enquiries@bloohouse.co.uk with your contact details and we will reply as soon as we can.
  • What is your admission procedure?
    In summary, the admission process involves the following steps:

    * A visit by parents to meet the Principal and to have a tour of the school.

    * Registration with fee. A refundable fee, based on a place being offered, of £75 is payable when a pupil's name is first registered for entry.

    * Invitation from Bloo House for your son or daughter to have a "try before you fly" day at the school.

    * Conditional acceptance of place.

    * Deposit and term's fees received.
