Bloo House

A Practical Education

Children learn what they live.

Current school commutes, attendance and homework can take up a substantial amount of a child’s week.  When one adds the number of hours spent sleeping, eating and engaged in commercial entertainment, a child is left with very little time in which to create an understanding of who they are and the world around them.

Most educators and schools may not mention that in order to achieve age appropriate academic targets, children do not need to be in school for 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. Consequently, the current system of education can create a pressurised time-table and thus result in little time for emotional growth.

Bloo House provides a four day week for primary aged children. Our philosophy and setting allows children to not only attain a high degree of learning - in most cases, higher than their peers in traditional primary education - but also allows them the freedom to develop and evolve as young people outside of school.

As a result, children are not over-tired, tend to be much happier in themselves and have the energy with which to learn. With this practical approach to education, children are enabled to pursue a fuller childhood with their families.
